Kayak Volunteers Needed

Sunday, June 13th, 2010, Sleepy Hollow Sprint Tri

The 2nd annual Sleepy Hollow Sprint Tri will take place on Sunday, June 13th, 2010 at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow NY. Needed are 12-18 experienced kayakers to assist with the 1/2 mile swim portion of the event. We expect 225 to 275 participants grouped in waves of 50. The swim will conclude within a 60 minute time frame. This event is produced by the Sleepy Hollow Physical Therapy group and all proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. There is no registration fee for kayakers and food and refreshment will be provided.

August 21st, 2010, The Stonewall Foundation

The Stonewall Foundation is hosting a fund raising swim in Fire Island. The aim is to have one boat for each swimmer and they are anticipating 50 swimmers.

September 12th, 2010, The Hudson River Swim For Life

Experienced kayakers are needed to assist swimmers 3 miles across the Hudson River from Nyack to Sleepy Hollow. Kayakers will be kayaking starting from Sleepy Hollow to Nyack and then back with the swimmers. This is a total of 6 miles kayaking. Additional kayakers are needed to assist 1 mile swimmers along the shores of Sleepy Hollow. All kayakers will receive refreshments and a t-shirt. A small tax deductible registration fee is required.

September 19th, 2010, Cold Spring Triathlon

This race is a true hidden gem on the triathlon race calendar. Come and experience one of the most beautiful, and challenging races on the planet. With the natural beauty of the Hudson as it back drop this race will stimulate the senses, and challenge the soul.

September 26th, 2010, Westchester Triathlon

The Jarden Westchester Triathlon has been going on for over 25 years. The success of this race is due to the volunteers and community. With your help you will enjoy helping our swimmers stay on course while enjoying the backdrop view of Rye Playland and Long Island Sound.
